FAQ's

• WHAT TYPES OF PRINTING CAN BE USED WITH THE VENEER?

Although we are not a printing company our customers are very successful printing flexo, offset, silk screen, digital and letterpress, with fast or hard drying inks.

• CAN THE WOOD BE PRINTED ON AN HP INDIGO PRESS?

Our products have been used for HP Indigo printing, you may need to treat wood surface for proper HP Indigo ink printing. Available in rolls and sheets.

• WHAT TYPES OF LAMINATING DO WE DO?

Currently we are limited to heat activated lamination. Adhesives are water based and activate at 165 degrees with a high point tolerance of 265 degrees.

• DOES THE GRAIN EFFECT INK COVERAGE? 

We have not been informed of any issues regarding ink spreading or color adhesion.

• WHAT TYPES OF MATERIAL DO WE MOUNT THE WOOD TO?

We can mount our wood veneer to several different backings including kraft, PET, uncoated cream (Currently only on Custom Large Run Requests, with extended lead times). We have narrowed down our product line offerings for our stocked sheet and roll products, ranging in overall calipers of .010” - .012”.  In addition we stock an all wood 3 ply sheet, .026” Pure Veneer board (Currently Unavailable).  These constructions are available in both our light Birch and warm Cherry woods.

• CAN THE PRODUCT BE DIE CUT?

Yes, and it can also be laser cut and laser etched.

• WHAT IS THE THICKEST SUBSTRATE THAT THE WOOD CAN BE MOUNTED TO?

The veneer is cut at .008" and then laminated to the various substrates which support the veneer and achieve the overall caliper. Our customers can then mount our products to another substrate at any thickness, including fabric, metal, MDF, styrene, foam core, gatorfoam board, Falconboard, and corrugate, to name a few.

• WHAT IS THE AVERAGE LEAD TIME?

Our goal is to turn all orders in 7 to 14 business days.  Large orders can take up to 4 weeks depending on order size and log seasonal availability.  Estimated lead time will be provided when a quotation is requested.
